Transforming lives and restoring wellness
Dayspring Wellness
My mission for Dayspring Wellness is to help people find the mental health they were made for and give them the tools they need to grow in it. In our logo, you can see the flowing script traversing the pond’s breadth, representing a bridge of water. This represents one’s travel from pain to healing. My hope and experience is therapy and counseling is the bridge.
“I feel like I owe it to my patients to say what I think or if I’m having a strong internal reaction to something. Judgement and criticism lead to resentment which then becomes another issue to deal with. So long before I knew I was going to be a therapist I went to work -weeding these out of my life and I continue to exercise that mindset.”
About Laurie Sargent
Laurie Sargent brings a wealth of clinical experience, enduring hope and a "can do" attitude into the therapeutic relationship. Laurie specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, adults, parents and families. She partners with her clients to improve wellness by strengthening coping mechanisms and processing conflicts with an eye toward constructive problem resolution. Laurie's vast clinical experience includes helping people improve their ability to function as they manage anxiety, depression, bipolar & other mood disorders, ADHD, authority conflicts, post-traumatic stress and other psychological issues. She seeks to understand, educate and help people resolve their presenting problems. A few of the therapy techniques which Laurie uses are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, reality therapy, systems therapy, reality therapy, and eye movement desensitization reprocessing. Clients should be prepared for an authentic therapy experience in which they will be heard, cared for and gently challenged toward improvement.
Authenticity
Let’s work together to create an honest, safe space for you to explore thoughts and feelings. If you’re not ready to disclose or you prefer not to answer, that’s fine. You can say that.
Honor
I believe in respect. Let’s honor one another, coming to sessions prepared to be present.
Acceptance
The willingness to accept is essential to our wellness. What is, is. What happened, happened. Sometimes the unthinkable, undesirable, unwanted thing does happen. Accepting this is vital so we may deal with it effectively. We can work together toward acceptance.
Wholeness
We will develop a wellness plan as part of your treatment. These include defining areas of your life to grow in wellness. Areas like problem issues, triggers, warning signs of escalation, coping mechanisms, and safety plans.
Hope
I work with those looking for tools to move into transformation.
